Hi, unfortunately I’m not completely sure what you’re referring to, can you please make a screenshot of the error and submit it here on the forum? What mail service are you using with eM client?
Are you using an IMAP account? Are you able to send messages from your eM Client?
Thank you,
Paul
It does sound like a configuration error. Has it ever worked?
Alan

Once the error occurs again, please switch to the “log” tab in Operations, copy the content of the Log and submit it to us here on the forum for more information about the error.

Hi, what mail service are you using with eM Client? It seems like the connection is closed prematurely because your server is not responding, are you using any firewall, proxy or any other security software on your computer that may have disabled the application’s ability to connect?
Also please navigate to Tools > Accounts > Your problematic account, and make a screenshot of your IMAP settings for this account.
Thank you,
Paul
no im not using any firewalls or proxy.
im using wirenine using standard smtp and imap on my laptop
Hi paul,
its working now. apparently our ip address was being blocked at the server. it has been removed now. thanks for your help
cheers

Hi, you don’t have the server setup to an actual mail server address, please make sure you’re using the recommended settings with your email account and adjust the server address.
Usually server address should be in format mail.domain.com or incoming.domain.com.
I believe adjusting the settings to the recommended server settings should help you resolve this issue.
Also please note that eM Client is free for home/personal use only, if you want to use the application for work, business or commercial use you’re not entitled to use the free license and you have to obtain a valid Pro license.
Thank you,
Paul
Glad it works, please make sure to let us know if you come across any other issues or questions about the application.
Thank you,
Paul
