I have lost the password to my email account and it the account has stopped working.
How can this be recovered please?

If you lost or forgotten “your email account password”, then go online to your mailbox via webmail and you should be able to reset that via a eg: forgot password link.
If you have forgotten your password “to open eM Client” and you have Windows, then see @Gary post in the following thread.
