Hi all - I’ve reported this via email to info@ but not yet received a response. Short version: on MacOS, if you set the native notification type to Alert (rather than the default Banner), eM Client moves every email generating a notification (typically every new email) to the trash when the notification is dismissed.
Details: MacOS 15.4.1, eM Client 10.3.1720 (although I doubt these matter). If system native notifications are used and set to type “Alert” (rather than the default “Banner”) in Mac’s System Settings, then messages for which the resulting banner is dismissed (i.e. “Clear All” or the close button) are moved by eM to the trash. I assume this is because the “Delete” option in the notification dropdown is somehow being set in the API as a default and activated upon alert dismissal.
Minor additional comments: As far as I can tell, eM’s “Show notifications in the tray area” option does nothing on MacOS? And it’s odd that there’s no “archive” option in the notification response dropdown (rather than just reply or delete; in an ideal world, that menu would be configurable).

There’s been a bug that causes email deletion for over three years without being fixed? I have trouble understanding how it’s “not a simple / easy fix” when obviously other Mac email clients do not have similar problems… It would be great to get a clearer ETA on this, and obviously to document it or prevent utilization of system notifications on Mac in the interim.

We don’t have any eta on this fix. Other than been advised to use banner notifications for now. This is a free user community forum and not offical support.
“You’re in the evaluation period” is a poor reason for not accepting bug reports.
I already specified in my email bug report (which has still received no reply) that, aside from this problem, I intended to purchase a license. That’s not going to be the case if the email client deletes emails.
If you can’t fix it - which, again, does not make a lot of sense - please turn off the ability to use Mac native notifications, or provide a warning in the appropriate configuration panel.
I’ve worked in software development. Leaving a service-breaking bug for this long is extremely difficult to understand. Attacking users for reporting it is also not great practice.
Again, that’s where I emailed. Twice. With extensive debugging details. I received no response. Much as I might dislike dealing with my business’ email, it is difficult to understand why I would purchase an email client that deletes emails, and for which there is explicitly no plan to either fix or mitigate the problem.
