[em10] contact sync error

em 10.3.3115
[Google Contacts] Deleting items in folder ‘et…@…com/Other Contacts’ failed due to the following error: Parameter validation failed for “resourceName” : The value did not match the regular expression ^people/[^/]+$

How do I get rid of this repeating popup error?
Wht’s wrong?

Go to the Contacts section of eM Client.

Right-click on the et…@…com/Other Contacts folder and choose Properties > Repair > Repair.

this removes the error temporarily, but it pops up again on the next sync.

Usually repairing the Google Contacts fixes that out of parameter sync issue as @gary advised.

If everything then looks ok with your Google contacts online, you might then need to next remove and readd your Gmail Account in eM Client via the automatic account wizard.

If you do remove your account, make a manual backup first via “Menu / Backup” incase you need to restore for any reason.

I’m losing my mind.

I’ve ‘repaired’ and even completely removed and reenabled my Google Account in Emclient 10 and I still get this error since upgrading.

It’s doing my head in. Will someone please help me with a fix for this!

This is really terrible. I think I will shift out of EM Client now. Its a shame, as it was such a nice app.

I had to delete all 400+ contacts in my ‘other contacts’ folder before it worked. Even when I deleted the ones EmClient said were causing an issue. Whether I’ve deleted something I need. We shall see.

Not ideal.

The Other Contacts folder is a read-only folder created by the server. Google creates contacts in that folder when there is some interaction with them. While you can’t edit the contents in eM Client, you can in the Google Contacts web page.

See my comments here:

Pre eM Client 10.1.x, you will get an error if you try to make any changes to that folder in eM Client. You can right-click on the folder and choose Properties > Repair> Repair to cancel any pending changes to the folder and resync it from the server.

That was amazing bro! I went to google contacts on the web, and deleted my ‘other contacts’. And the problem got resolved. I cant thank You enough!
