Hi. Over the past few weeks I’ve noticed a random double delete of messages when I’m reading and deleting messages. It occurs both when using the ‘delete’ button on the top menu and when using the ‘delete’ button on the message preview. The effect is that when a message is deleted, the selected message and the next message in the list are both deleted and moved to Trash. I haven’t found any consistent pattern of behaviour causing this problem. Has anyone else noticed this problem? Is this a known gremlin? Many thanks.
If it just started happening, this is usually related to when the eg: keyboard button or mouse button is starting to go faulty and pressing delete once then sometimes deletes two messages due to electronic component issues.
So if you have a spare keyboard or mouse try that to see if it’s a hardware issue when you either press del on the keyboard or right click mouse del.
Apart from that make sure you are using a recent eM Client version as some “early versions” had user reports of that type of thing untill updated.
Lastly could also be program related to eg: when eM Client last updated / installed if maybe something didn’t quite install 100%.
So you can also try uninstalling and reinstalling eM Client to see if that fixes it. If you have Windows “don’t delete the database when asked on the uninstall wizard” and then download the same or later version of eM Client from the release history page & reinstall.
Note: If you do uninstall and reinstall, make a manual backup first via “Menu / Backup” (Pc) or “File / Backup” (Mac) incase you need to restore for any reason.
Thank you. As you suggested, it seems 'twas the mouse that was the guilty party! I’m surprised, I haven’t experienced that problem before and I haven’t noticed the problem with other apps.
