If your laptop is using the same internet connection as your desktop Pc but won’t send, then the laptop either has an incorrect SMTP (outgoing mail server) setting, or may have an optional program installed on the laptop blocking or interfering with the outgoing mail.
So first on your desktop go to “Menu / Accounts” and click on your email account on the left. Then click the “SMTP” tab along the top and write down all the settings.
Then go to your laptop “Menu / Accounts / SMTP” tab and check that you have the same settings. If the laptop is different then change it to match your desktop. If you do change SMTP server account settings after saving accounts, drag or move any current email stuck in the Outbox to your Drafts folder and then dblclick them and try sending again.
If however your laptop SMTP server settings are already the same as the desktop, then could be you might have an optional program installed (other than what comes default with your OS) like a eg: Firewall / Security program, or Antivirus program or VPN. So if you have an optional program installed like that on your laptop, then try completely disabling those to test.
Apart from that, could be you might possibly have an older version of eM Client on your laptop compared to your desktop and might need updating. So check that as well incase the laptop is outdated. You can get all the various versions of eM Client from the release history page
Note: If you do update eM Client on your laptop, backup first via “Menu / Backup” (PC) or “File / Backup” (Mac). You can see when the backup is complete in “Show Operations” via clicking the drop-down on the right of Refresh at the top left.
Thank you so much for the great advice, the STMP settings on my laptop were not the same as my PC (haven’t had to use the laptop for a while) so i followed your advice and changed them to match my desktop and all working perfectly now !! Can’t thank you enough !!
