We have bought 20 lifetime licenses of eM Client and are generally very happy with your product I am having one issue though.
When I use the auto setup of eM Client to connect to Exchange Online it will only download and sync about the first few folders that are on the Exchange server. If I add an account using the mail - other connection all folders download and sync properly. This is the case on all clients I have tried it with (Approx 15).
What is the difference between the way the two connections are made? I notice the options on the different connections are different. One has General, SMTP, IMAP and Diagnostics and the other has Genera, Mail Calendar Contacts, Offline Address Book and Diagnostics. Are there some settings on the second one that can help resolve the issue?
Hello, the difference is between setting up the account using the IMAP protocol and the more advanced (or enterprise) solution using the Exchange Web Services protocol. Exchange has many additional features and for example allows you to synchronize your calendars, use delegation etc.
If you’re not able to synchronize all your mail folders while synchronizing over the EWS protocol, I’m guessing this might be caused by an incorrect setup of the mail server rather than an application issue.
What version of Exchange are you using on your server or are you using the Office365 account instead?
Hello again, I’m not completely sure how did you setup your account in eM Client?
To setup an Office 365 Account all you should need to do is to use the automatic setup using your account credentials, eM Client should be able to synchronize all your items and setup the account based on the server autodiscover preferences.
I tried to set it up both ways because I was trying to test the program. I still had a in-house Exchange Server So I set it up through Mail option other then manually setup the IMAP to point to outlook.office365.com (account *** 365"). When everything checked out and we bought the program I installed a second account with the automatic setup (account “*** Exchange”). The first account syncs all of the accounts with Exchange Online but the second account installed only syncs the first few folders. As you can see in the enclosed picture nothing is included after the folder “Forward Attached” in the Exchange account.
I do not see any options in the Exchange Online administration have to do with how EWS Synchronizes.
Hello Ron, you’ve mentioned you’d like to use the account using EWS, but it seems the office 365 account is setup correctly and synchronizes all your folders, does this account use IMAP to synchronize your items?
Not really sure why two configurations of the same account would be loading different content, but please navigate to Tools > Settings > Advanced and enable Exchange Web Services logging for both of these accounts.
Save the settings, restart the application and make sure the initial startup synchronization process is finished. Once it is, restart the application one more time and go back to the advanced settings window and use the “Send logs” button to submit the logging data to my work mail, [email protected] with a reference link to this forum topic.
