em Client using CPU 100%

I’ve had a problem with my CPU being pegged at 100%, which I’ve narrowed down to eM Client as the cause. Any suggestions?

Doug, have you been using it long? Mine ran high (25%, not 100%) for a few days, then settled right down. I’m guessing it was busy indexing my gigabytes of emails.

I haven’t been using eM for that long, but I imported several years (as in 5+) worth of emails. That was kind of what I was thinking, that maybe it had something to do with the volume of emails on my drive. Solutions?

Patience!!

Okay… until when?

Until it’s done indexing (if that’s what it’s doing). Took about 4 days in my case.

If the application is indexing or compressing the database data you might be able to speed up the process using this utility, http://www.emclient.com/tools/dbrepairrebuildall.exe , however if the problem persists, please let me know as this may point out to an application issue in some cases, we may need to get some more logging data…

Hi, i am having the same problem since the last update!

How do i know if it’s indexing?
And how can it be that the whole application becomes unusable when it does indexing?

And please, this kind of stuff can’t be happening, my clients can’t use their email and they are pissed off!

Velimir

Hello elimir, if the application becomes unresponsive or appears to be frozen, please run this utility tool, http://www.emclient.com/emstackdump.exe and submit the logging data to us for more information about the issue you’re experiencing to my email, [email protected]. Also please include a reference link to this forum topic.

Thank you.

i guess the database got corrupted when the last update came in.
after removing the user accounts and adding them again it seems to work for now.

i guess i hope it does not happen again

Velimir

Glad it works, please make sure to let us know if you come across any other issues or questions about the application, we’ll be happy to help.
