Open:
Significantly improve the handling of rules! See Apple Mail.app or Thunderbird.

In Favorites, Labels view, show the actual storage location of the message, because messages can be moved by a rule. See Apple Mail.app.

I still haven’t found a way to change the color and appearance (line thickness) of the mail directories (left field) using the design editor. I don’t want to invest too much time in something like that.

Well done:
Grouping ALL emails into collection directories saves me from having to search through all directories for new messages.
Inboxes (root directory)
Favorites + Unread
Labels

This gives you a good overview of what’s coming in. I maintain an extensive set of rules that moves certain messages to local folders to keep an overview of the mailboxes themselves.

Well done, the parallel access to multiple independent profiles! However, these profiles would have been better stored in a common root directory (see Thunderbird, Postbox).

Note:

I enabled automatic backup, which isn’t absolutely necessary on a Mac.
Time Machine (or CCC) also does this. The only caveat is that if eM is active, the database is also open.

Apple’s Mail.app (as well as the old Outlook 2011 for Mac) circumvents this by using mdir instead of mbox, saving each email individually in the file system.
With mbox, this can lead to inconsistencies during operation!
Since I don’t always have eM running, this wouldn’t be a problem.

By the way, I deleted the Thunderbird exports that I set up in parallel after Postbox was shut down.
