Ever since I got eM Client there is a problem when I go to create an email. I select new email and I have to wait like 30 seconds or more before it will allow me to start typing a message. I usually can start entering the email address I want to send to but when I go to start typing the message it won’t let me. I have the latest version of eM Client. I recently upgraded to PRO ver but it works the same. I am running this on Win 10 PC. I have not had this type of trouble with any other email app that I have used in the past.
Apart from any potential initial program installation issues or a possible corrupted mail database, or a possible background program resident on startup interfering with the mailer, that can sometimes just be related to slow hardware.
What hardware specs do you have ? Cpu, Ram, and Harddisk type (mechanical or ssd).
I have a Surface Pro 4, 16 GB memory, Processor Intel(R) Core™ i7-6650U CPU @ 2.20GHz, 2208 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s), SSD harddrive with plenty of free memory. I don’t have any issues with any other programs. I’ve been using eM Client for several years now and always had this problem.

Oddly this has recently started to happen to me and I have no idea why?
For @cyberzork here is what I am currently using - do you have any idea?
Samsung Galaxy Book3 Ultra
Intel® EVO Core™ i9-13900H Processor
(2.6 GHz up to 5.4 GHz 24 MB L3 Cache)
Windows 11 Professional 23H2
32GB DDr5 RAM
NVMe SSD 512GB (x2)
Wi-Fi 6E
Bluetooth 5.1
16"120Hz Dynamic AMOLED Display
NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 4070 Laptop GPU
It is also connected to a monitor:
32" Samsung Odyssey Neo G7 LS32BG752NNXGO 3840x2160 165Hz
Makes no difference if I disconnect this.

Addendum >>>>>
This only happens with first new message after OS start from sleep, however, every time when replying to a message.
I also run The Bat! and I do not experience this annoyance.

Ok as your Hardware specs are all good, then i would next try closing eM Client and forcing a repair of the mail database to see if that fixes it. Could be some possible corruption in the mail database.
(To Force a repair of the eM Client database manually for Windows)
Close eM Client and then open a Windows Command Prompt. Not a Powershell, Then Paste and run the following command:
“C:\Program Files (x86)\eM Client\MailClient.exe” /dbrepair
(To Force a repair of the eM Client database manually for Mac)
Close eM Client and then “open the Terminal app via either Launchpad or Utilities” on the Mac. Then Paste and run the following command.
/Applications/eM\ Client.app/Contents/MacOS/eM\ Client /dbrepair
Next if the Repair of the database makes no difference, then suggest to try uninstall eM Client and “don’t delete the database when asked on the wizard”, and then reinstall the same or later version via the Release history page & see if that fixes it. Could be just something went wrong when eM Client initially installed or updated.
Now if uninstalling and reinstalling eM Client doesn’t fix it, then next suggest to try with a clean database. To do that close eM Client and then rename the following hidden folder to eg: eM Client-Old Then open eM Client and setup as new and see if that fixes the problem.
(Windows hidden eM Client database folder)
“Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\eM Client”
(Mac Hidden hidden eM Client database folder)
“Users\yourusername\Library\Application Support\eM Client”
Apart from the above if still happens, I can only presume something on the computer startup running in the background is possibly delaying you typing in the window. You might need to temporarily disable all background non os tasks on startup and reboot and see if that fixes the problem. If it does, then enable those background tasks one at a time and reboot in-between till you find which one is causing the issue.
This only happens with first new message after OS start from sleep, however, every time when replying to a message.
That is very strange that it happens after returning from sleep mode. I can only presume that is happening where eg: eM Client has possibly lost the connection to the server for a time when the computer went to sleep, so is delaying till it reconnects on wake up. I haven’t experienced that issue myself coming out of sleep mode with Windows 11 Pro 23H2 and using V9.2.2157 for Windows.

Just as a follow up I already carried out all that you suggested above plus I do not believe my system goes off line whilst in Sleep mode as updates for Defender frequently run in Sleep mode and I am not aware of any server interrupt as presumably The Bat! would also be affected as both are connected to the same server as are my 2 other laptops, neither running eMC. I am lost for ideas, do you have any other thoughts?
Incidentally, at home I have a stable fibre connection at 1486.27mbps average, if I go to the office I am on a 10Gb pipe.

Thanks. Cleaning the database appears to have fixed my problem. Thanks for the help.

Sorry i dont have any other ideas why that is still happening. Hopefully another forum user might have some other ideas.
Suggest to maybe also post this issue on the Microsoft Community forum incase other users have struck that issue with different mailers in the past.

Thanks for that, and in case any one else has a similar issue;
I checked ALL recent update logs and discovered that Samsung System updates were also separately included and installed at the same time as the last Microsoft update that when these were uninstalled the issue has gone. I have advised Samsung support.
To be certain that was correct I checked for the issue on another laptop:
Lenovo ThinkPad P16 Gen 2
Windows 11 Pro 64 Spanish
13th Generation Intel® Core™ i9-13980HX Processor
(E-cores up to 4.00 GHz P-cores up to 5.60 GHz) - (Total cores 24)
64 GB DDR5-5600MHz (SODIMM) - (4 x 16 GB)
1TB SSD M.2 2280 PCIe Gen4 Performance TLC Opal - (2 x 512GB)
16" WQUXGA (3840 x 2400), OLED, Anti-Reflection/Anti-Smudge, Dolby Vision™,
Touch, HDR 500 True Black, 100%DCI-P3, 400 nits, 60 Hz, Low Blue Light
NVIDIA® RTX™ 5000 Ada Generation Laptop GPU 16GB GDDR6
Integrated Mobile Broadband Fibocom L860-GL-16 4G LTE CAT16
Backlit, Grey with Number Pad - Spanish
I installed eMC skipped setup and used Backup from Samsung to complete, so far there have been no issues and I do not expect any, if there are I will advise.

Following my previous post at sábado 27 enero 2024 :: 1242hrs (UTC +0100)
I have not experienced any further issues whether using eMC v9 or v10
{ do not know what to suggest other than cleaning your system again as per @cyberzork together with posting on Microsoft Community Forum
I note that you say your issue returned after “a day” yet this post is 6 months later, what do you expect?
¡Buena suerte!

Yes my post is 6 months later just because I’ve been too lazy to come back on here and post again. The problem is very annoying but I figure there isn’t much I can do about it.
