Em Client requesting images despite being block via privacy settings

Is it normally behavior for the em client to still request domains (presumably images), even though this is explicitly blocked in the privacy settings?

My application firewall shows me that multiple domains are requesting connection. From the domains, I can immediately tell that they are all from the emails in my inbox.

Or am I missing a settings somewhere?

Contact avatars are also sourced from the Internet, and not covered in that setting.

You can disable the option in Menu > Settings > Contacts.
