eM Client on Linux?

Now that Microsoft is forcing AI and online accounts, I want to move away from Microsoft Windows towards Linux.
Is there a version of eM Client available for Linux?

Hello,

I doubt there will ever be a Linux version of emClient. Linux distributions are complex and with the arrival of Wayland too diverse to maintain.

Now that I’ve finally said goodbye to MS Windows (and thus to eM-Client) and switched to a decent operating system, I find it a bit disappointing that this excellent email client isn’t available in a native Linux version. It’s a shame, but there are plenty of other great options out there. I think the excuse that Linux with Wayland is too complex is a pretty lame one. Thunderbird/Betterbird impressively proves that it’s possible to build a decent email client for Linux.

See this thread post from @Olivia_Rust regarding eM Client on Linux

So many people moved to Linux in 2026 - more than I would have ever imagined - even old people lol

And you are correct on Thunderbird

Granted, it isn’t nearly as pretty as emclient, though it is very capable - might just be the one to beat on Linux atm

NB, there is a strange effect with Linux software, in-that Thunderbird is free(donation based), and that an app like emclient could just end-up being a competing platform - and moreso, that it is highly unlikely that emclient profit model could ever compete with Thunderbird - and so, I don’t see emclient making good in that regard at all personally - my two cents of course

No one i know moved to Linux at all. Everyone i know is still on Windows or Mac.
