eM Client launching NVIDIA Control Panel sometimes

Hello,

I know this will look a bit bizarre, but eM Client sometimes launching NVIDIA Control Panel .

I’m not sure what’s going on here, or how to trigger this issue on purpose. It is happening roughly 3 times per day (this is really just an estimation) and it usually happens when I open previously minimalized eM Client and try to click on something in it.

I was checking em Client logs and cef.log have some logs than can be related. Adding here just a few last lines…

I can provide more info about my HW, etc. if necessary. Thanks.

Sounds like a Windows Registry problem or maybe an issue with your current Nvidia Control Panel installed.

I personally run the Nvidia Control panel from the “Windows Store” and have no issue with EM Client V8 for Windows 10 that i and my bro use everyday.

Try uninstalling your current Nvidia Control Panel and reinstall from the Windows Store.

If same problem, try a registry checker for Windows errors. There is lots of free Registry cleaners for Windows - eg: https://fossbytes.com/top-10-free-registry-cleaners-for-microsoft-windows/

Lastly make sure you have the latest ver of EM Client from the version history page incase you have an older version. https://www.emclient.com/release-history?

I think this is an issue between the NVIDIA driver and the Chrome rendering engine (CEF) as I have seen it elsewhere without eM Client being installed.

What I would try is to uninstall eM Client, making sure NOT to delete the database directory when asked, then download the latest version as @cyberzork suggests.

I use the full version directly from NVIDIA, and I also don’t have any issues.

Maybe update the NVIDIA driver as well. They release updates regularly.

I guess these are actually the same thing. Sorry if I duplicated your suggestion @cyberzork
