eM Client frozen after system sleep

Two updates ago, the eM Client started freezing after my MBP came out of a system sleep. No window, no response. Force quitting the app and restarting is the only soluton. Based on the timing, I would say it is definitely related to the eM Client update, not a MacOS update.

I’m currently running 10.3.2040 on MacOS 15.5.

I’ve been seeing similar. It doesn’t happen all the time, but I’ve had something like four or five hangs over the past couple of weeks when waking from sleep, requiring a Force Quit. I’ve also had a hang when clicking between an old account and a new/re-added account during some troubleshooting, but that may be unconnected (confusion with the same web services being accessed by two, duplicate accounts?).

eM Client is otherwise very stable, no crashing issues like I had in the very early releases of v10.3, so I suspect something crept in with a recent eM Client update or the recent macOS update. I’m using eM client 10.3.2040 and macOS 15.5.

Windows 11 user here. My newish virus and malware free, unmolested from the factory HP with all the updated drivers and such has been totally locking up sporadically at random times. Seems this only happens when EM Client is open and running. No rhyme or reason to when it happens. Could be in a half hour could take a day between freezes.

MacOSX 15.5 (24F74) on ARM chip (M2) does the same thing. This is relatively new. Did not happen on earlier versions of EmClient - currently running 10.3.2622 (9cd48bf). It is very annoying though does not seem to have any lasting effects like losing emails or drafts. Obviously a bug since it happens on all OS’s and machines.

I am on a Mac and have observed this behavior consistently since I started running EM Client, probably around four months ago. Still more feature-rich than Outlook for Mac so I put up with it but would love to have this issue resolved. Running 15.5 on M4 chip.

eM Client crashing coming out of Sleep mode on Mac

I personally carnt replicate that issue coming out of sleep mode with eM Client either left open or minimised using a eg: M1 ARM chip running eM Client 10.3.2622 and Mac OS 15.5. There shouldn’t really be any difference running an M2, M3 or M4 and very strange thats happening unless Apple have radically changed something in the CPU since the M1 was created.

Be interesting to see what happens when Tahoe OS26 comes out if you have the same problem.

Same issue. On Macos (MBA M1) and everytime I close the lid/let it sleep for a while and get back to it, emclient is unresponsive and I have to force quit and relaunch to use it. Definitely happened after the last update of emclient. Hope we will have a fix soon.

Flawlessly waking up from sleep here with eM Client 10.2.26622 running Tahoe 26.0 beta on an M4 Studio.

Yes that can happen with even with Windows laptops when you just close the lid as that can just eg: “kill the open programs” forcing sleep unless your very lucky. I’ve seen many different email clients do that with Windows and Mac.

What happens if you let your Mac go to sleep automatically “without closing the lid” or if you manually shut it down in sleep mode and then close the lid and then wake it back up. Does that make any difference than just shutting the lid.

If that still doesn’t, then suggest to wait till you get the official Tahoe OS26 update and try again.

This is the only app i have this problem with (and the only email app I’ve ever had this problem with) and it happens if my MBP goes to sleep naturally or i close the lid.
