I installed the updated they pushed out today and now eM doesn’t start anymore. Any ideas?

First suggest to try rebooting your computer if you haven’t already.
Failing that uninstall eM Client and if you have Windows “don’t delete the database” when asked on the uninstall wizard.
Then re-download the same or later version of eM Client via the release history page and reinstall. Then see if it will open.
