eM Client does not start after update 2021 January 29

There was a forced update today. After installing and rebooting the client does not start.
How can it be fixed?

Operating system Windows 10, version 1511 last updated 22-1-2020

Can you try starting the application as administrator?

If that works, close the application, then start it as you normally would.

I tried to start as administrator it, but it does not work. Is there a way to reinstall without loosing saved mail files?

During an upgrade, or reinstall, you will not lose your data.

Best option is to uninstall eM Client, making sure NOT to delete the database directory when asked. That will ensure that you data is still there later.

After the uninstall, delete the C:\Program Files (x86)\eM Client\ folder if it exists.

Download and install the latest version from the Release History.
