eM Client Crashes on Apple MacBook Pro M2 (macOS 15.4)

Hello eM Client Support Team,

I’m encountering repeated crashes after OS upgrade on my MacBook Pro with the M2 chip running macOS 15.4 now. The issue appears whenever I try to reopen eM Client (10.1.4828 (9843340)) after closing it. I’ve pasted the crash report below.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Launch eM Client on MacBook Pro M2 (macOS 15.4).
  2. Close the main window with the red close button.
  3. After some idle time, attempt to open eM Client again.
  4. The application crashes and does not open successfully.

What I’ve Tried So Far:

  • Verifying that my system and eM Client are fully up to date.
  • Restarting the computer and relaunching eM Client.
  • Checking system logs and crash reports for hints.

I would greatly appreciate any assistance or workarounds you can offer. Let me know if you need additional information (e.g., logs, settings, version confirmations, or plugin details).

Thank you so much for your help, and I look forward to getting eM Client back up and running!

Sincerely,
Patrik

The issue appears whenever I try to reopen eM Client (10.1.4828 (9843340)) after closing it. I’ve pasted the crash report below.

I personally can’t reproduce that crashing issue with the latest eM Client Mac V10.2.1712 (Beta) & Mac OS 15.4 official version running on a M Series Mac.

So suggest to “try uninstalling your current eM Client version and then update to the latest eM Client Mac V10.2.1712 Beta” via the release history page and see if that makes any difference.

Backup your current eM Client V10.1.4828 first before uninstalling via “Menu / File / Backup” incase you need to restore back to the non Beta version for any reason. You can see when the backup is complete in Show Operations via clicking the dropdown on the right of Refresh.

If updating to the latest V10.2.1712 Beta also still has the same issue, then it could be your hidden database folder might be possible corrupted in some way. So for a test, next close eM Client and then “rename the following eM Client hidden folder to eg: eM Client-Old” and then reopen eM Client and setup as new and see if that fixes the problem or if you still get crashing,

“Hidden mail database folder Mac”
“Users\yourusername\Library\Application Support\eM Client”
