eM Client can't access email - Red triangle with exclamation mark

I can access my Aussiebb email on my iPhone but since last Thursday (29th) mail will not load on my PC running eM Client. The email account is displayed with a red triangle with an exclamation mark in it. I have gone to webmail directly on Aussiebb and I can sign in and access emails. But not on eM Client, What is going on?

The email account is displayed with a red triangle with an exclamation mark in it.

Need more info. What version of eM Client are you using, and do you have Windows or Mac.

Who is your mail server hosted with and what are your incoming mail server settings via “Menu / Accounts”. Blank out anything personal.

Also when you click the red triangles what error message do you see ?

You can also click the dropdown on the right of Refresh and click Show Operations and click the Log tab. Then “look for any obvious error messages” and paste them in this thread. We might then be able to see what’s wrong.

Unable to read data from the transport connection: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.

Sometimes that error can be related to eg: Optionally installed Firewall Security programs or Optionally installed Antivirus programs or VPNs. So if you have anything like that installed “other than what comes default with the OS”, try completely disabling those to test incase of any interference.

Are you using the following Security Policy with Port 995 with Use SSL/TLS on special port (legacy) which normally works in eM Client.

No- it was using Force usage of SSL/TLS
I tried the one you mentioned - no change. I’ll try Use . . . if available.
Should I try Don’t use secure connection?

No VPN switched on and I tried disabling the antivirus (both McAfee)

Whoa ! I tried “Don’t use secure connection” and got 5 days worth of emails

Whoa ! I tried “Don’t use secure connection” and got 5 days worth of email.

Ok I presume you are now using the non secure POP Port 110 with no SSL encryption selected.

Or are you still using POP port 995 with no SSL encryption selected.

Also what version of Windows do you have ?

I only used insecure connection for 1 minute. Back to port 995 after trying 110.
I’m on Windows 11

And now, with nothing different except “Use SSL/TLS on special port (legacy)” it is working again!

Thank you!!
