eM client can no longer talk to license server

Have tried a number of things including rebooting, disabling firewall and AV, and reinstalling. I can also connect to these in a web browser (no proxy):

Client still says it cannot connect. eM client version is 10.4.4867 and Windows 11 25H2 build 26200.8039. Any ideas?

“If you can open the below three links ok but the license server still cannot be reached with Windows “and you have completely disabled any optionally installed Firewall / Security program, Antivirus or VPN”, then it may be that some apps turned off specific services that are required”.

“Click on the Windows Start button and type Services and Open the Services option from the results”.

Or press Windows Key + R , and type services.msc , and hit Enter

Then “Check that both Cryptographic services and CNG Key Isolation are running. If they aren’t, start them”.

Apart from that make sure you have the current “correct date and time set” in Windows OS.

Also try “reset the builtin Windows firewall / defender to defaults” and add eM client as exception via “Windows Security / Firewall & network protection

I tried restarting both services as was already running and date/time is set via NTP but checked. Neither helped.

However, had a power event and machine crashed hard this morning. After got machine going again (couple reboots), eM client was happy again. Turned firewall and AV back on, everything still worked. Even went so far as to reboot a couple extra times to make sure it continued to work. So I don’t know if Windows was odd and the crash/fix made it better or if something else just mysteriously happened.

I’m happy things are working as expected again, but for future people who find this, can’t say why and give idea for something else you could try too.
