Em Client backup vs OS backup

Is there any benefit to setting up a periodic backup of the eM Client when the operating system already backs everything up?

I checked in macOS and found that the eM Client app and ~/Library/Application Support/eM Client are backed up hourly by Time Machine.

If eM Client “is open at the time” when the OS Time machine is backing up, the database could get corrupted and so then “might not work” if you had to manually put the hidden folder back.

So you are always best to use the automatic periodic backup built into eM Client, or otherwise manually do your time machine backups and make sure eM Client is closed when doing that.

OK thanks. Are you one of the developers?
Should that not be near impossible with modern database management systems and operating systems @Michal_Burger

No I’m not one of the EMC developers. Just a user of this forum.
