eClient runs slow and takes 90 gb on hard drive


I have been using eM Client for almost 1 year and I like it very much.

But lately I noticed that the application is running slower (especially in the search for emails) and that it takes 90 gb on my hard drive.
After reading several posts about backup, archiving and others, I still do not know what I should do, so any advice would be useful to me.

90GB is quite large, so it will run a little slow especially if the database is stored on a mechanical hard disk.

One thing you can try is to close eM Client and run C:\Program Files (x86)\eM Client\DbRepair.exe.

Another thing you can look at, if the database is much larger than expected, are the log files. Go to Menu > Tools > Settings > Advanced > Logging, and make sure none of the items are ticked. Then click on the Clear Logs button.

See if that makes any difference.
