Duplicate Email In Sent Folder?

Can anyone tell me why I get duplicate emails In the sent folder after composing and sending a new email with eM Client, I never use to get this?

Do you have a Rule that affects sent messages?

If you don’t it could be caused either by your email provider, or another device connecting to the same account.

Or it could be a bug in eM Client, though I did not see any similar comments. Which version of eM Client are you using Craig?

Hi and thanks for the reply Gary. No I don’t have a rule but maybe it could be my phone that connects to the same account although this never happened before.

I am using version 7.2.34666.0

First thing you should do is update to the latest version. You can download it directly from the Release History. See if that makes any difference.

But this is showing as the latest version though already…??

No, the latest published version is 7.2.36908.

@Craig.

Really?
How can that be if you’re using version 7.2.34666.0  ?
Why are you ignoring the link that Gary gave you?

@ Gary - you beat me by seconds haha

Ah okay, I just looked and you’re right. Downloaded the latest version thank you but my problem still persists lol

Yep. I get this sometimes too. Seems to be when I reply from a mail that is in a stored folder, rather than inbox, but it doesn’t happen all the time.

Is this not maybe some confusion created by conversations?

Disable conversations in Menu > View > Conversations, and see if there is any difference.

thanks for the reply, but I already have conversations disabled.

I have the same problem with both iCIoud and Outlook IMAP accounts creating duplicates in the Sent folder. I had to disable the mail setting that saved a copy in the sent folder to avoid eM client crashes when sending mail from my iCloud account.

I am running version 7.2.36908. Even with the mail setting disabled, I still get a copy created on my Outlook account. All other accounts both IMAP and POP3 get no copies in the Sent folder once the setting is turned off.

Yes, some servers automatically add a sent message to the Sent folder, but as far as I know that is not an SMTP requirement. If they do, and the client does as well, then you have a duplicate.

Because turning this option off in your settings affects all accounts, the solution may be to create a Rule to delete the sent messages for a specific account.

You could try it and see what happens.
