Downloaded msi from website, ran under WINE, Window Store version shows up

As stated, I downloaded the .msi from the Download eM Client for Mac | eM Client site. Ran it under wine so I can get it installed on my linux box, but the version that installs is the Microsoft Store version, so I can’t enter my license code from my PC.

I see others have struggled with something similar here but have not seen a solution. I even tried the v9 msi with no luck (emclient-v10.1.4588.msi and emclient-v9.2.2280.msi).

At no point do I open the Microsoft store so I am not sure how it is installing that version.

3 months later and no contact, no resolution. I’m pretty bummed because I really like this client - enough to have it in the past, but apparently the “pro” support had an expiration date.

eM Client “is not designed to be run on Linux or run in emulation under Linux” due to the net frameworks etc needed. It is also not supported on any Linux. See eM Client support page minimum system requirements.

Some users have tested Wine and other Linux emulators, but eM Client generally will crash or doesn’t work properly as is not designed to be run like that.

So you will either have to run Windows or Mac “via actual bootup”. Then download eM Client via the website link and install it where you can then enter your license.

Now if you have a Mac, then you can run eg: Parallels with eg: Windows 11 and install eM Client via the website (within Parallels) which works fine. But thats the only emulation im aware of currently that works which i do personally for testing purposes.

Lastly if you would like to run eM Client on Linux, then there is a Sleekplan Suggestion page where you can vote for that.
