If I enter information in my Calendar under ‘LOCAL FOLDERS’ is there a way that this information can be simultaneously entered in the calendar that opens under my Gmail address?

unfortunately this is not possible, but you can use workaround using ctrl + c and ctrl + v
it will copy/paste event form local folder into calendar you choose and synchronize it.
