Don't show attachment-preview on hover

Is it possible to deactivate the attachment-preview (e.g. for pdf-files) on hover in an email?

Best regards.

We would like to disable this feature at some users too. Is it possible, please?

If you don’t need to use the attachment preview, just “dblcheck the attachment” which will then directly open it.

Thats not gonna work if you want to save the file.
If it is a pdf-attachement, for some reason, other than with images or word-documents, the preview-image is immensely large and i have to move the mouse all the way down to the save-button (which is below the preview-image). If the preview-image does not load correctly the tooltip closes and i have to do it again.

Just right-click on the attachment and choose Save As.

I don’t want to download the attachment, I just want to disable this preview feature. Is it possible, please?

It’s quite simple really. If you don’t want to see the preview, don’t hover over the attachment.

I agree, I personally don’t have a problem with this feature. However, our director does and that is why I am asking for a clear answer if this feature can be turned off and possibly if it will be available in a future update.

I don’t believe there is anyway currently to completely disable the preview hover but @Gary will advise on that if there is.

Now If your director is worried about hovering over the pdf due to eg: virus / malware reasons, as @Gary advised in another thread, Quote: “The preview is sandboxed, so it’s ok”.

I’d like the ability to turn this off as well. When trying to delete attachments when forwarding an email the pop up preview gets in the way.

I would also like the ability to grab the pdf attachment and move it into another email, folder, application, etc. It seems impossible to do this as is, as the pdf viewer just opens up the thumbnail view. I don’t want to have to save and then reattach to another app/file/etc.

You can then “drag the pdf attachment to the desktop”, and then drag it into whatever other program you like.

Is there a “pdf preview” toggle on / off ? = NO

Will this be a feature or no? ?

Asking because a feature from another software is not working and i have to trouble shoot it.
the feature works with Outlook and Thunderbird just fine but no longer capable with EM client.

(Another Third party named software here) allows sending multiple attachments from the software, usually you can add 3 pdfs and it will add the attachments and all is well,

now, with pdf preview you can see the file names are correct in the email attachment names, but the doc is the same doc on all attachments as the first one that was previewed. Rendering the rest of the attachments useless because they are a copy of the first one.

I am looking for options so I can troubleshoot this issue.

If no toggle off then how else can I turn off the preview?

There is no current option to disable the preview in Settings, but there is a Sleekplan suggestion to have an option to disable it where you can vote for that idea below.

ahh. Well i’ll leave it as that then.

Something that could have been easily implemented, and still is.
Is still buttered up to be a suggestion first.

Thanks for your response.
