Sometimes an email disappears after being read. No longer in either the unread folder nor the combined inboxes nor in the inbox of the appropriate account. It can still be found by searching all folders for it and it shows as being in “inbox”. After much experiment, I have realised that the disappearing emails were all categorised as promotional. If I change the category before reading the email e.g. to personal, they no longer disappear when read. It may be that other categories may cause the same behaviour but I haven’t experimented further as yet.
Does this make sense? How can one stop this other than by changing the category? Is there some other setting I have accidentally triggered that is causing this (I am new to emClient)?.
