Is there any chance we could pressure the eM Client software developers to do something about the “self-resetting” tags?
I’m referring to a situation that started about two months ago.
Tags have been randomly “disappearing” after some time. Tagged emails end up in the inbox. As a result, some messages get overlooked — and the consequences depend on how important the missed messages were. ![]()
Previously, for around four years, there had never been an issue with tags vanishing. Now I’ve basically stopped tagging emails because it makes no sense anymore. It happens regardless of whether I shut everything down properly, including Windows, or just log out.
Description of the situation:
- Emails are tagged. You turn the laptop off and on again — it works. Sometimes the tags persist for 2–5 days even after restarting or shutting down the laptop.
- Then randomly — I don’t know the exact time intervals — the tags vanish and you’re left with untagged emails, like in the example below. My only workaround is using flags and my personal habit of double-marking important messages.
Sometimes everything is already messed up by the next day. Sometimes it’s fine for a week — I can close the laptop lid, log out, or leave it to shut off on its own, and the tags remain. And sometimes they disappear like the software is acting up on a whim.
