Is there a way to actually delete or update a Local Folder? Provide them a specific name? I’m new and uploaded a PST archive file to see how Local Folders worked and now want to update or delete it for a current version. Also need to find a way to archive calendar events to a local folder as I did in Outlook before it no longer “talked” to iCloud.
If Local Folders don’t work for you, we have a new feature in version 10; Data Files.
You can import your PST files as separate Data Files that can be mounted (or unmounted) from your main database and even stored in different location. Or you can create your own Data Files and move some of your messages, contacts or events into these separate files for archiving reasons or easy sharing. So just like you did with PST files in MS Outlook.
Start a Data File by clicking on Menu > Data Files.
How do I delete existing local files? Can events and other items be dragged and dropped into folders in a data file, etc.? Where is the best place to learn about Data Files andhow to manage them?
You can only delete folders you have created yourself in Local Folders. Those that are there by default can’t be deleted. That is why I recommended Data Files as they are empty and you can do what you want without having preset folders.
Yes, items can be dragged from one folder to another, both within the same account, or to other accounts, Data Files and Local Folders.
Unfortunately we don’t have any documentation prepared yet for Data Files other than what I have given here. But if you have more questions, please ask.
Is it possible to tell me how to delete Local Files I have uploaded through your files tab on the main menu. I’ll gladly try Data Files as a conversion and upload but need to eliminate existing Local Folders and understand if they can be updated. Trying to learn but documentation seems to be limited to version 9.2. Thanks
Otherwise I guess I’ll need to delete the app completely and start over dealing with Apple’s app specific passwords.
I have imported and mounted multiple times a PST file only containing calendar events. The data file displays on the Calendar page but will not open. So effectively creating and mounting a Data File gives me nothing. Is this because I do not yet have a licensed copy? I want to evaluate and select this program to replace an Outlook app that will no longer function with iCloud but need local calendar archiving. I cannot do this so far either using Local Folders or Data Files. What could I possibly be doing incorrectly. Do I need to try again with only a certain log file created? Should I purge the entire app, eliminate all associated fiels and registry entries and start over? Thanks!
