I recently deleted some many years old calendar events. 140 people got cancellation messages. Some for 10 years old events. This was really embarrassing.
How do I avoid sending out cancellation messages if I delete old events?

How do I avoid sending out cancellation messages if I delete old events?
By default, when you delete and event “after clicking delete” you will then get prompted if you want to send a cancellation notification via email or not as in the below example.
If you are not getting this prompt, then using eg: V10 go to “Menu / Settings / Calendar / General” and make sure you have selected “Always Ask” under Invites as in the second screenshot below.
Thank you, I had the setting on “always” instead of “ask”. That was the problem.
