Declined calendar event disappears

using emClient, when i am invited to a calendar event and decline it, it disappears completely. sometimes my attendance status changes before the event, and i am able to attend - but the event is gone. i need to open chrome and navigate to google calendars and then change my attendance there.

is there a way to decline an event, but not have it disappear completey?

If you decline an event, it will not appear in your calendar.

If you want it to be there, you will need to select Accept or Tentative.

bummer - trying to avoid going into chrome for calendar stuff.
