In eM Client, I have 4 email accounts, 2 Gmail, 1 yahoo and one Cox tied to my old isp. I always downloaded full messages by default.
About a week ago, cox closed the account (I moved in June, so this was not unexpected.) I can still see the old messages (as I anticipated), but in trying to get the latest, eM Client balks as Authentication with Cox fails (duh). I figured if I deleted the account, the cached emails would be gone (not wanted).
So I tried to move the folders to a local folder, and it balks trying to Authenticate again on the copy.
Had I known this in advance, I might have done something ahead of time.
If your old Cox messages are fully cached as you advised, “disconnect from the internet” and then try moving them to local folders. It shouldn’t then try to authenticate as you are no longer online.
Then once they are in local folders and you can read them all ok, then remove the old Cox account.
Note: Before doing anything though incase you have any issues. Backup eM Client via “Menu / Backup” (Pc) or “File / Backup” (Mac). You can see when the backup is complete via Show Operations in the dropdown on the right of Refresh.
I have turned Wi-Fi off.
options for the account have were already set to “download messages for offline use”
I can now read messages (I have not tried all, but a sample)
When I select all and try to move them to another local folder, I get “downloading items from server failed”. this i the same error I get when I try to move just a single file.
ps, I have backups set by default, every 3 days.
Anything else I can try?
Thanks!!!
ps. screen shots attached, need to add to more replues for all 3 pics
