When I try to activate my Macbook I just purchased, will I get the option to deactivate the other licenses?
Yes normally for personal or non business user licenses, when you activate a new computer with the same license it automatically deactivates the old device license and just works.
Alternatively, is there a license manager webpage? I did find one, but it wants GROUP information inputted which I don’t understand.
The Group Login username is usually emailed to you initially after you have registered. Mine is just “User” as an example with my registered email address and password.
From reading the threads the License Manager i believe is for Business licenses, and i don’t know if that will also work for Non Business versions or Personal paid versions. However someone will update this thread if it does work for non business & personal versions.
So I would suggest you email either [email protected] or [email protected] to check “if it does work with Non Business versions or Personal paid versions” and if so what your User Group name is.
If your paid version doesn’t support the License manager and your existing licenses wont activate on your new computers, then support will be able to deactivate the sold Macbook licenses
“eM Client License Manager is a tool for managing licenses and settings for eM Client Pro customers. It enables you to remotely deactivate old unused licenses as well as configure server settings like updates and signatures for your entire company”.
I am amazed that nobody in emClient support has responded to my question that I sent to them email.
In any case, the license issue worked itself out. The new install must have seen the removal of the prior software on the other computers. As soon as I added the replacement, the license updated accordingly.
Still not happy about the lack of eMClient email support, though. That’s unacceptable.
I am interested to know the email address you used to contact
eMC support as my understanding is that the default way to
contact support is to raise a ticket: HERE
For future reference you can deactivate your license using this
eMC start parameter: /deactivate
when you still have computer access.

As far as your email support request is concerned the probability is
that you would, in time, have received a reply had your issue not
been resolved.
I only have a rough idea of the size of the eMC user base, probably
in excess of 2.5M users and over 100K businesses, so I can not even
guess the turn round time on the possible number of emails received.
What I can tell you is that I have around 350 email per day from our
53 world wide offices, mostly reports that do not need a reply and
without the help of my team it would be an almost impossible task to
address; this is apart from other duties.
Noting what you say. and not knowing if you are aware, advise that this
Forum is mainly supported by eMC users such as @cyberzork and others
who freely give up their time to assist eMC users based on their own
experiences and is not an official support channel.
eMC Moderators (et al) do keep a watching brief and intervene where
their greater experience and knowledge prevails.

That’s a good reminder for anyone new here. It’s really helpful that the community steps in to share these experiences, especially since the automatic license deactivation seems to handle most transitions smoothly without needing to wait for a support ticket.
