Dark Mode Invert Shortcut Key

Hi there,

I searched on Dark Mode and Invert and I see a number of posts, but no one specific post that covers what I’m looking for.

I would like to propose the following features for Dark Mode users. If these exist already, please let me know!

  1. When Composing or Replying to an Email, Please allow me to easily switch between dark mode and light mode. There are many times when I find that I believe the formatting looks fine only for the recipient to tell me that it does not. It would be nice to be able to flip to light mode before sending and review for any obvious problems.

A good example of this: text where the color is defined as “white”. This should not happen but it has happened. I copy and paste (most of the time without formatting, but mistakes do happen) and the text looks fine to me on a dark background, but the recipient says there was nothing there. They select the text and then can read it. This looks very unprofessional and there should be a simple way to resolve it in eM Client.

This feature exists when I read email. It does not exist when I am writing an email.

  1. In regard to the last line above: Please make switching from one mode to another a special key combination. For example, within the message list view I can highlight an email and press Control-Shift-V, which is a shortcut key that lets me move the email somewhere else. This key combination was duplicated from another well established email client.

“Control-Shift-V” is good for the purpose above because it is an odd enough combination that Grandma will not hit it on accident and then have an emotional meltdown because her email disappeared. It requires knowing about it. So, perhaps something like “Control-Shift-I”, for Invert?

  1. One of my customers (we are an eM Client MSP reseller) pointed this out to me: There is nowhere in the Menu navigation system for invert from light mode to dark mode. My customer has macular degeneration and uses a combination of Light mode and Dark mode to completely understand the email he is reading. So a shortcut key would be great. In the absence of a shortcut key, putting it on the menu navigation would be great. At the moment he has to “remember” on the screen where the button is when reading an email. For someone with vision issues, having to “remember” where a specific icon is can be maddening.
