If the 3 eM Client.wav files “do play ok” but your custom wav isn’t selectable, that probably means “something within the wav” is different.
eg: eM Client might be using a very small 8bit mono wav file for the sound notification, so if you have a custom eg: 16bit or 24bit wav large stereo file it might not work.
Also the length of the wav file might also make a difference.
So suggest to open an existing eM Client wav notification that works in a free open source audio editor such as “audacity” and then note exactly what it is and also the length of the file.

If your custom .wav sound for inbound email in eM Client isn’t working, ensure it’s formatted correctly, placed with default sounds, and selected under Settings > Notifications. Restart eM Client and test. If it’s from Spotify music, convert it to a standard .wav format like 16-bit PCM.
