I have been using em client for a while. I have a registered version 10 free license. Today I booted up windows and the Patch My PC utility said there was an update for em client. I went to em client and it said no update available. I then had Patch My Pc do the update and then went to em client and it had updated. Checked in em client for more updates and told none. Went to the em client web site release history and saw there was another update. Downloaded and installed so now I am on version 10.0.3530 (f0b89b7). Why did em client keep telling me no updates when there were updates? Am I now on the most current version? Thank you
It possibly might depend on what eM Client version you had prior to the new update.
That same update appeared in eM Client and installed & updated perfectly for me today.
Thanks for the reply. So from your post it appears I am now on the most current version which I downloaded direct from em client. I hope it auto updates correctly in the future.
Not all the interim updates you see on the release history page are automatically pushed to users via the check for update process, just incase there is any issues. However the V10.0.3530 is one that was pushed and normally should have updated itself, and it could be eg: eM Client pushes official release updates out to users “in stages over a few days” so could have been there in the 24hrs.
You can always though manually download any interim updates yourself via the release history page “as you ended up doing” if you want to try them anytime apart from waiting for any official pushed update.
Note: If you do download any interim update, make a manual backup first before installing via “Menu / Backup” incase you need to restore for any reason.
