creating contact list

Going back and forth between two computers with backup and restore, it ended up that I have lost my contacts (most of them were automatically generated when mails were sent).
Fortunately the mails are still in place.
Is there a way to recreate contacts from the mails?

Hi Giovanni,

You can find these “contacts” in your recipient history: Menu > Tools > Settings > Mail > Compose > Recipient’s history. After you mark them, with a right-click > Save to contacts you can create regular contacts from them.

Yes, thank you.
But this means that I have to add contacts one by one which is unfeasible on a data base of over 1.000 contacts.
Secondary question is: Does backup/restore wipe the contacts data base?

Hi Giovanni,

There’s no need to do it one by one. You can mark multiple recipients from the recipients history and save them as contacts at once into a designated folder.

The Backup contains your contact list as well so restoring from Backup file won’t wipe your contacts.
