Crash on search for "to" or main search at the top

Windows 11 blue screen after reboot yesterday.

Since then eM Client has been crashing on me, a few seconds after typing a contact name into the “to” field or a search into the top, e.g. “from:xyz”.

It restarts and completes the 2 checks, corrupt Db and inconsistency, both complete with Done and green tick… but the crashing continues.

I really don’t want to delete and rebuild the database as it’s massive and contains a lot of popped mail.

These constant crashes are driving me crazy.
(Assuming deleting the Db is my only option) I understand that I’ll lose all my filter rules of which I have many, and possibly some account configuration too!

I’ve been searching for the steps to backup/export rules and account details so I can restore these after deleting the database, it’s not looking all that promising.

== SOLVED ==

  1. Exported all settings to xml file.
  2. Renamed DB folder (_backup) and created new blank Db folder
  3. Started eM Client.
  4. Manually fixed duplicate issues in xml then imported the settings.
  5. It looks to have restored everything I need, all mail downloading now and no longer crashing.

I’m glad you got it sorted and thanks for posting your solution in case it may help others too. :slightly_smiling_face:
