Could someone help me?

I’ve this error:

16:56:57 Posta Ufficio [Exchange Web Services]  MailExceptions.ConnectionException: Couldn’t get server version.
16:56:57    in MailClient.Protocols.Exchange.ExchangeFolderSynchronizer.GetExchangeVersion(WorkerStatus s, CancellationToken c)
16:56:57    in MailClient.Protocols.Exchange.ExchangeGenericCommand.Execute(WorkerStatus status)
16:56:57    in MailClient.Commands.Command.Process(WorkerStatus status)

Best regards. Umberto.

Hello Umberto, OWA stands for Outlook Web Access, unfortunately it is not possible to synchronise your Exchange account using the OWA protocol, you can only setup your Exchange account as an Exchange Web Services (EWS) account if you have this protocol enabled on your mail server.

Using this option you should be able to setup the account using your credentials with the automatic setup.

Regards,

Hello Paul and thanks for your answer.
Perhaps I was not clear.I don’t want to to use the protocol OWA, but I’m tired of using OWA and I would like to use a client to connect to my company’s Exchange.
I tried to set the account automatically, but without success.
Doing manual setting always gives me the error “Could not get server version”.
I also did the test connectivity Microsoft https://testconnectivity.microsoft.com/ and everything works properly.
If I read mails from my Android smartphone with the default app I should also be able to use your client. Is it correct?
Best regards.

What version of Exchange are you using on your mail server? Are you using any security software on your computer, can you please try to temporarily disable any security elements that may be blocking the connection to the server.

Also please try to update your eM Client to this release and check if the issue persists, 6.0.22504.0 .

Thank you,

Q: What version of Exchange are you using on your mail server?
A: Exchange 2007

Q: Are you using any security software on your computer, can you please try to temporarily disable any security elements that may be blocking the connection to the server.
A: I’ve disabled Windows Firewall but nothing changes

Q: Also please try to update your eM Client to this release and check if the issue persists, 6.0.22504.0 .
A: I’ve tried but nothing changes

If useful I say that for authentication I use DOMAIN\UserName

Best regards.

Are you able to synchronise anything with the server, or are you only seeing this error thrown on each sync interval?

Can you please navigate to Tools > Settings > Advanced and enable Exchange Web Services logging for the problematic Exchange account? Save the settings and replicate the issue, once the error reoccurs, please restart eM Client and go back to the advanced settings window to submit the logging data.

Send the logs to my work mail, [email protected] with a reference link to this forum topic and include a screenshot of the error as well…

Thank you,

Hello Paul, any news for me?
Thank you.

:frowning:

Same to me … I think the client is imature for moderate usage … pitty
Maybe is ok for other simple tasks, as one gmail and one yahoo or other … Exchange seems to be too much …

Hello, please note eM Client is only compatible with Exchange servers running Exchange 2007 (with at least SP1 installed) and later, older releases of Exchange are not compatible with eM Client or the EWS protocol.

If you’re having issues with the application, please submit an error report from the log tab to us here for more information.
