Copy & Paste crashing program

Has anyone experienced any issues when they attempt to use copy/paste from another program into the eM Client text area when creating a new email?

I did a copy/paste from TapForms into the Subject line and it worked fine.
I then tried to paste the same text into the main body and eM Client crashed!

I can replicate the same error every time. I got around the issue by copying the text from the subject line and then it pasted successfully.

Any ideas why this is crashing the program?

Sounds like some eg: non standard html code in TapForms text.

As a test, try copying the text first from TapForms into either eg: Notepad on Windows or TextEdit on Mac “to strip out anything”, and then paste it in the body of eM Client and see if it then works.

If it then still crashes, put an example text of what causes the crash in this thread so we can then test it and maybe then see why it’s happening.

Hello,

I have the same issue. Any text pasted will crash eM Client 10.0.3530 (f0b89b7) on MacOS 14.6.1.

An example of text that crashes is just a series of numbers like the following:

EL34T 04055 33544 2343 9382 6323

This is not the actual text as it was a bank account number.

I also tried the following text copied directly from Textedit:

Dsffddsf

this had the same result of immediately crashing eM Client.

@FredV78 Thank you for reporting this. We are aware of the issue on the Mac and are working to fix it. It only happens when you paste formatted text, or you paste text into a field that supports formatting, so until it can be resolved, use the paste as text option instead.

Perfect, thank you for the prompt update!

Yep, mine was a simple 6 digit number I was attempting to paste.
I tried standard text too and this also crashed the program.
I attempted to use the TextEdit get-around to remove the formatting but this too crashed the program.
Hope this helps.

Until it can be resolved, use the paste as text option instead. That means right-click and choose Paste as Text.

Just to let you know that the crash on pasting formatted text has been resolved, and the fix should be in the next official release.
