Copied files tagged as important

I have done all I can to disable emails being tagged as ‘important’, both in gmail itself and em client. It seems to work fine except when I copy emails to a local folder, when they are suddenly tagged ‘important’. This is extremely annoying. And before anyone mentions it, I have done this: Menu > Accounts > (select your gmail account) > IMAP tab > Tags > Show Important Tag > Never

It seems to work fine except when I copy emails to a local folder, when they are suddenly tagged ‘important’.

As you have then already disabled the important tag in Gmail online and disabled it in eM Client, then I would then suggest to go to “Menu / Tags” (Pc) or “Tools / Tags” (Mac) and see if the Important tag is still showing in Local Tags.

If it is, then “delete it from there” and then “close and reopen eM Client” see if that fixes it.

Note: Backup eM Client first via “Menu / Backup” incase you need to restore for any reason. You can see when the backup is complete in Show Operations via clicking the drop-down on the right of Refresh top left.

Also check you have the latest V9 or V10 incase you have an older / outdated version. You can see all the latest versions via the release history page..

Note: If you do update eM Client, also backup eM Client before updating and close eM Client before updating.

Thanks. No important tags showing at all and I’m up to date. So it’s still a mystery.
