as I detest outlook and thunderbird is outdated and clunky, I had planned to purchase eM client after my trial period.
However, eM client worked great for only a week. After that, database corruption errors began to occure. After 8 days, the database was completely corrupted and I lost all of my emails.
I thought this might be a fluke, and thus I tried to re-install. However, after multiple uninstalls and re-installs, the program never fails to enter into an infinite loop of trying to repair the database, closing, etc.
Windows 8.0 OS.
I really liked em mail client, and I wished it functioned properly.
Oh, I should say that uninstalling and re-installing didn’t even solve the problem (apparently the uninstaller does NOT remove registry entries…) so the program kept referring to the (completely corrupt) database.
I can’t trust an email client that corrupts it’s own database in a week - especially because not even thunderbird or outlook have ever done that to me in my 10+ years of using them.
Hi, you do not need to re-install eM Client in case of database corruption, only thing you need to do is to delete or rename your current database, then eM Client will create new one.
What exactly you have in that error message, it might be something else than broken database, also have you tried to edit your database manually? Or perhaps do you use some kind of external tool which could backup or done anything else with eM Client’s database?
Well, I experienced the same as the individual who opened this thread. Much of his description fits the symptoms on my system, though I don’t know for sure if my database is bricked. I didn’t get that far before doing a search here. I only installed the product three days ago. It came highly recommended by a good friend of mine who knew I’d had trouble with my ISP email service.
After a reboot eM Client started as I’d left that install option checked then went into the same error loop scenario described above. After going through its error process a few times I used Task Manager to kill it. Restarting didn’t help. Rebooting did not help, nor did cold rebooting. I left the error pop-up open and uninstalled eM Client. Then I reinstalled it with the option to start at boot up unchecked. So it is still on my system, but untouched, so to speak.
I too thought this was an ok product. I too have issues with Outlook. On the hope that this could be fixed I will cooperate with tech support. Should I call this in or just wait on a response to my update to this thread? I’ll give it a few days. If I don’t get a tech support response I will just move on the next possibility.
Yes, it goes through the error process notwithstanding all the processes that I tried to stop it, including rebooting, uninstalling, and reinstalling. I have a screenshot of the 1st error pop-up, but didn’t get the 2nd pop-up. What sort of documentation would you like? There also seems to be some data that is collected. Are you in eM Client tech support staff member?
version is 6.0.206480.0; Don’t know how to upload to your site the graphic of the error msg screen. Can you give me directions for uploading? Thank you.
Hi, while adding a new post/reply there should be a camera icon in the format bar below the text field. Just click on that button and select the screenshots on your computer.
Here is the first error window. If I click “continue” the process pops-up another window. Unchecking “Restart the application…” keeps the problem for iterating multiple times.

Hi, it seems the error is not complete (this does not have to be your fault).
So just to go through this, after installing eM Client you’ve added your accounts it worked fine for a couple of times and then the error/crash started occurring?
Or anything that occurred prior to these issues?
We could use your database for internal testing to determine what causes the issue. Do you think you could go to your local folder > App Data > Roaming and archive the eM Client directory and send it to us to [email protected] with a reference link to this forum topic?
You can also create a new database and try to setup your accounts again, if that helps (there might be an issue with your current database), just rename your current eM Client folder for backup and when you open eM Client again a new database should be created.
