When I press the ‘Contacts’ button (down left) it shows this picture:
No contacts.
But when I click ‘New mail’ and the ‘To’ button, they show up as expected.
This seems to be a new bug, I’m sure it worked before updating emClient.

That is not a bug.
Contact suggestions are also offered from your recipient history (that is recorded when you send a message) and from the messages in your Sent folder. So even if you don’t have contacts displayed there, you will still get suggestions.
If you had contacts displayed there before, were they in Local Folders? If so, you have disabled Local Folders, so you can enable them again in Menu > Settings > General > Folders.
Ok, I had disabled ‘Local folders’, enabling that made them visible again.
But, really, that is a strange and un-intuitive thing. Why should the fact that I hide ‘Local folders’ prevent contacts to show on the page, that is dedicated to show and edit contacts? It doesn’t make any sense. At least the contacts page should tell me WHY it doesn’t show anything!
Not everyone wants to see Local Folders because all their data might be synced with a server. In that instance their server contact folder will be displayed there as well.
That is exactly the reason why I chose to hide it, I don’t save E-mails locally. But I still want to see local contacts!
I have this problem, recently returning from an overseas trip. The suggested solution does not work.
The Local folders button is already ticked. When I open Contacts all I see is a folder called Contacts Nothing happens when I clikck on it.
