What are the criteria looked at when eM either deletes or (even more important) merges duplicate contacts.
In the past various platforms have messed me up, royaly.
Thank you.
The DeDeduplicator works on exact duplicates.
It compares Subject, Date-time, Sender and Recipients info and Message ID as @Olivia_Rust wrote in her post in the following thread.
Deduplicator Support page documentation
Note: Before running the deduplicator make a manual backup first via “Menu / Backup” incase you need to restore for any reason. You can see when the backup is complete in “Show Operations” via the dropdown on the right of Refresh.
Thank you for the reply but it doesn’t answer my question.
I asked specifically regarding Contacts duplications.
The link you sent is regarding emails. Contacts have many more fields that can get mixed up.

The DeDuplicator support link does cover contacts. You select “Contact” when you run it as per below example screenshot. If you need more specific info on that, email [email protected]
Thank you but I was looking for information about which fields it uses for the comparisons. Many different contacts save in different fields. For example Blackberry saved the main phone number in the work number and google contacts in the home and so on.
But I will follow your advice and email support.
