Contacts are missing

I just upgraded to em client v. 9 and my contacts are no longer showing. I have an att.net account. When I revert to em client v. 8 they show up.

With v. 9 I even removed and added back my account with no luck.

MENU > General > General > Ensure that “Show Local folders” is checked

Checked. No contacts.

Let me rephrase. The contacts “folder” is empty.

Nope…didn’t help. Was already checked. I have the folder however, carddav is not syncing. Works fine with version 8. This is a version 9 issue.
