Hello, I lost my contacts overnight. All other things are working. Cannot see them by creating a mail or wenn I call them direct. I try a data recovery, but it didn’t help. My OS is Win 11, em Mail is the version 10.4.4209. What can I do?

Hey @horst1
CONTACTS LOST
This assumes you have a Backup that contains the data you need.
Then there is a way to retrieve selected data from the backup:
1./ Disconnect the computer from the Internet. This is IMPORTANT!
2./ Make a backup using Menu >Backup, so you can come back to the current database later.
3./ Restore the most recent backup that has the data you want to retrieve.
4/ Export the Local Folder data you need. (Menu >File >Export)
5./ Restore the backup made in step 2.
6./ Reconnect to the Internet.
7./ Import the data from step 4. (Menu >File >Import)

Same thing happened to me. Like come on… And no, I didn’t have a back up. But my god, this can’t just happen
If you haven’t been making regular eM Client backups and “have no backup.zip file” in your default user profile Documents / eM Client folder, “but do have your computer user profile backed up on another internal or external drive, then you can restore your eM Client contacts from that.
1). Close eM Client and then go to your current hidden database folder location and rename it to eM Client-Current.
(Hidden database folder Windows)
C:\Users%username%\AppData\Roaming\eM Client
(Hidden database folder Mac)
/Users/User Name/Library/Application Support/eM Client
2). Then copy your backed up user profile “eM Client hidden database folder” with the missing contacts in it “to the same hidden database folder location” and then “disconnect from the Internet”.
3). Next open eM Client which should then be the same as it was before with all your contacts.
4). Now you need to export your contacts to a .vCard file via “Menu / File / Export” to a folder on your hard disk as per the following link
5). Then once you have all your contacts exported out of eM Client, then close eM Client and “delete the new eM Client hidden database folder”. Then “rename your original eM Client-Current database folder back to eM Client”. Then reopen eM Client.
6). Next “import your saved .vCard contacts” via “Menu / File / Import” into your current eM Client. Then lastly reconnect to the Internet.
