Compatibility Issue Between eM Client 10.4 and SmarterMail Build 8251

Hello Support Team,

We are currently using SmarterMail Build 8251 as our mail server environment.

Recently, we attempted to connect mail accounts using the latest version of eM Client (v10.4), but the connection is failing.

We would like to check whether there are any known compatibility issues between:

Environment Information:

  • SmarterMail Build 8251
  • eM Client version 10.4
  • Protocol Tested: EWS

Current symptoms:

  • Account setup fails during connection/authentication
  • Unable to complete mailbox synchronization
  • Automatic account setup does not work properly

We would appreciate your guidance on the following points:

  1. Is SmarterMail Build 8251 officially compatible with eM Client 10.4?
  2. Are there any known issues related to:
    • TLS/SSL versions
    • IMAP/SMTP authentication
    • ActiveSync
    • Autodiscover
  3. Is there any recommended configuration for eM Client?
  4. Is upgrading SmarterMail recommended for compatibility with modern mail clients?
