Title explains it. Right click on sender address, click “communication history”, window pops up saying “eM Client has stopped working”. What else would you like to know?
Hi David, what version of eM Client are you currently using?
Does a crash report window show up with a “Show error” button? If so, can you please copy this error and post it here?
Thank you,
Paul.
Hi: The version is 6.0.20154.0
The window that turns up says only that eM Client has stopped working, and gives me the option to close it. Thanks.
Hi again David, please try to update to a more recent version of the application (http://www.emclient.com/dist/v6.0.20498/setup.msi), let me know if it helped.
Thank you,
Paul.
Hi: Updated to the newer version. No difference. Thanks.
One thing that I’ve now determined is that I can’t seem to make this happen with other addresses. The one that it fails on is a quite ordinary one between the carats, however, to the left of the address in carats is the sender name, which reads “(Western characters)/(Japanese characters)”. Could it be this that is confusing the application?
Hi David, can you please make a dump from this crash?
Open task manager and find the mailclient.exe process when the crash occurs, right click the item and select “Create Dump”, this will create a file on your computer (might be quite large), can you send me this file to [email protected]?
Thank you and sorry for the inconvenience,
Paul.
