Comcast email was working, now it isn't

Comcast email works fine on iPad, using same settings on Win 7 EM Client was working with same settings until yesterday. What should I do? Thanks,

After much fiddling with EM client I was able to restore the email connection although as to why it failed is still not clear. My remaining issue is that I cannot get the POP3 connection to operate on any port other than 110. My iPad connection (that has always worked) operates on 995 but the PC mail client only seems to operate on 110. Comcast says it will drop support for port 110 around November 2018 and so I would like to switch over to port 995. Any suggestions? Thank you.

You can adjust the server settings in Menu > Tools > Accounts > POP3 but please note that together with the Port No. you also have to change the security settings.

Here are the Comcast server settings:

  • Incoming Mail Server Name:
  • Incoming Mail Server Port Number: 995 (POP3 With SSL)

For port 995 the security policy needs to be Use SSL/TLS on special port (legacy). You can use port 110, but set the security policy to  Use SSL/TLS if available.
