Click to Call

Ah - I see that even going to the Google Voice page it doesn’t let me call the way I thought it would. How does Google allow us to make calls from their Hangouts service? That seems to just make a VOIP call without involving another phone. It would be great if we could authenticate against that and only use the Google services I’m paying for to make the calls.

I have yet to figure out a way to smoothly make calls to unregistered numbers in Hangouts. There is no “Hangouts” as a destination in my voice.google.com account. That being said, an incoming call does ring my Hangouts and I, most often, answer it with that.
I do pay for a static number from Skype. This gives me a number that I placed in my Google Voice and allows me to use my skype for calls without paying Skype for minutes. Skype gets $60/year from me for the static number, so it’s not actually free.

I cannot edit my first post, but if I could, I would fix some egregious type-o’s GVDIial should be GVDial. As long as it is consistent, it doesn’t matter, but nonetheless, it still bothers me.

Nice Thread,
I used to get the message “no application associated”   Somehow that has changed and now an instance of Chrome is launched.

I’m on windows 10, and I could use google voice or skype.

I have the set default programs window open.  and I’m looking at Chrome’s associations…  I can’t deselect the “TEL” - “URL:Tel Protocol”  which I assume would be the first step in reassigning google voice?
Any advice?
