I have lifetime eM Client license purchased on 28 February. I have struggled with hotmail and outlook email accounts, errors with Syncing folders and Sending crop up constantly. Never had such issues with Apple Mail or Thunderbird or other email clients.
I have tried every solution suggested on the forums but this has become so annoying that I am going to uninstall eM Client for the final time and if it is too late to get a refund, so be it. I can’t believe even AirSync has failed to work and it is just not worth the headache to use eM Client any more and it is also quite slow.
Goodbye to eM Client even with the loss of money paid for the lifetime license. Waste of time as well. eM Client should stop blaming MS servers and fix bugs if these are the underlying causes.
I talked to you over Support, but I want to explain the current situation with Outlook accounts who might be reading this thread. We’re aware of the issues caused by the sudden changes on Microsoft’s side, and our developers began working on a hotfix once we became aware of the problem. Right now, the fix is in the final stages of testing and fine‑tuning – we want to make sure it resolves the issue without introducing new ones.
Thank you very much for your prompt reply, much appreciated.
I hope the fix will work because eM Client is otherwise excellent and I would prefer to continue using it.
I think this is Microsoft trying to force every user to switch totally to their ecosystem, which is not pleasant to use at the best of times.

What was the actual specific error you are getting just so we know in this thread for any other users who might have the same problems.
The only error I’m currently aware of with Hotmail & Outlook for some users is where eM Client devs are doing a fix shortly for [AirSync] Synchronization error (VersionNotSupported) due to Microsoft stopped supporting ActiveSync 14 and changed to ActiveSync 16.1. Is that the error you are getting or a different error message ?
I have had problems with both hotmail and outlook accounts with automatic setup failing with repeated tries. Hotmail would send only with AirSync, no problem sending with outlook in eMC until a few days ago. Now hotmail fails to send and receive, outlook fails to synchronise folders and I have to use MS Outlook (which I dislike) for these accounts.
In fact, Thunderbird and Spark which I tried before getting eMC and worked well at the time, have now stopped sending or receiving with hotmail account and are reporting authentication errors! So I can’t use them either for anything MS! The only email app which has worked and is still working without errors is Apple Mail for icloud/gmail/hotmail/outlook accounts.
So it is NOT eM Client bug or issue, it is just Microsoft and its efforts at monopoly! I have to use Windows for some programs and for MS email accounts and it is not convenient to have many devices around to switch to/from if one OS doesn’t do what is expected.
If eMC developers come up with a fix, it would be great. If not, I will stick with eMC on my Windows laptop (minus any hotmail/outlook accounts!) and restrict/minimise MS accounts for sending/receiving emails in Apple Mail.
Apologies to eM Client developers for blaming the app for MS’s stupidity. Thunderbird and Spark have the same issues for the last couple of days!
Not the original user, but I’ve had multiple instances of VersionNotSupported errors. However, previously working Outlook accounts seem to be able to sync calendar events using older protocols, albeit inconsistently.
At some point during debugging, I’ve attempted to delete and re-add accounts that would not sync calendar events, and now said accounts don’t appear on the Calendar tab.
Any update on when a patch to a newer protocol version will be publicly available?

For the [AirSync] Synchronization error (VersionNotSupported) errors see @Michal_Burger post reply below.
So it looks like many if not all email clients have these issues due to Microsoft’s attempts at “world domination!” through unannounced revisions. A bit like their effort to push Netscape out of the browser scene to promote IE many years ago, I think MS was fined $10 billion for it!
Please note that with the upcoming version 11 we’ll replace the legacy Airsync protocol with MS Graph when connecting to Outlook/Hotmail accounts. We hope that will bring more stability, as Airsync protocol is not maintained well on the MS side.
Hope v11 is nearly here! My hotmail account which was working with the hotfix until this morning, has failed again. “Unable to open inbox” shows up in log.
